According to law 710/77, with regard to Tourist Guides, the presence
of a qualified Greek tourist guide licensed by the Greek Ministry
of Tourism is compulsory, not only in archaeological sites and museums
but also during all journeys of organized tours and excursions.
The guide indicates and comments on the sights and highlights of
the country, the ancient and historical monuments and works of art.
In addition the guide provides general information about ancient
and modern Greece. Authorized guides are also equipped to provide
information and their services on specialized aspects of tourism
