Description:
The Museum was founded in 1938 by the historian of the Greek Theatre, Yiannis Sideris. He was succeeded in 1976 by the theatrical writer Manolis Kores. In the Museum's rooms are exhibited memorabilia of theatrical life, stage costumes and props, photographs, models of stage settings, personal belongings of leading figures of the theatre, as well as posters and programmes.
The library includes about 25,000 volumes on the treatre, from Greek and foreign bibliography. The theatrical archives include 18th-century manuscripts, programmes and posters of theatre companies from the 19th century on. |
